Worked with the senior management of a major energy company
that was also a large consumer of electricity. The recent deregulation
of the electricity market had caused extreme uncertainty about
the future of electricity supply and demand. CCS Incite’s
process identified five scenarios representing a wide range
of possible outcomes for the electricity market. We used these
scenario models to identify possible points of entry into the
market and to identify and test the company’s current
and future electricity strategies and options. The results identified
target growth strategies and actions for mitigating risk and
aligned management’s thinking about the most probable
future.
Worked with a consortium of private and public companies concerned
with current workforce demographics in their companies and the
North American talent shortage. The process identified two primary
drivers (from dozens of issues) that shape the future of the
workforce scenario. CCS Incite’s process also developed
and tested several strategies against the scenarios to determine
successful workforce retention and recruitment concepts. The
result was a scenario and strategy framework for individual
companies to use on more specific company workforce issues.
Worked with the senior management of a public agency to develop
several possible futures regarding climate change. The client’s
main concern was the implication of several future developments
on their current and future green house gas strategies. The
analysis resulted in six scenarios, which reflected a range
of factors from technological advancement to actions of key
government and industry stakeholders. The scenarios were used
to help stakeholders understand what a probable future would
hold and to gain an appreciation of the range of possibilities.
